TFP
TOP 30 AVAILABLE PLAYERS LIST

AS OF FEB. 06, 2018 | 4:01PM ET

With the NHL trade deadline approaching (Feb. 26, 2018 at 3pm ET), TFP has outlined 30 of the top names rumoured to be available through various newspapers, radio and television reports, cyberspace and our own league-wide sources. Last season, 22 players listed were traded.

As part of our Trade Deadline Coverage, this page will be updated regularly and TFP's panel of experts will outline each player's value. Some players may climb or fall off the list, while others may be added. Teams reportedly showing interest will also be added and adjusted as more information becomes available.

AGE: 26 CAP HIT: $5.25M
1. Evander Kane, LW / Buffalo Sabres
The price tag on Kane is high, and the Sabres hold all the cards - for now. If a team is willing to cough up a first-round pick, a roster player, a top prospect and an additional asset, they can get their hands on Kane pretty easily.

BLUES DUCKS BRUINS SHARKS PREDS ISLANDERS VEGAS BOLTS PENS DEVILS PENS

AGE: 32 CAP HIT: $6M
2. Mike Green, D / Detroit Red Wings
The Wings are starting to take calls on Green, who will be an unrestricted free agent July 1. He's a rental acquisition for contenders in need of a right-shooting veteran on the blueline. He won't come cheap, but he's the top rental D out there.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
JACKETS STARS LEAFS CAPS JETS KINGS  ISLANDERS PENS

AGE: 33 CAP HIT: $7.8M
3. Rick Nash, LW / New York Rangers
The Rangers received Nash’s 12-team trade list, per their request, and it now appears the writing is on the wall for him to be shipped out by the deadline.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
PREDS BLUES STARS SHARKS CAPS BOLTS KINGS VEGAS

AGE: 33 CAP HIT: $2M
4. Thomas Vanek, LW/RW / Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks may try to hold on to Vanek and sign him to an extension, but many believe they'll trade him prior to the deadline. His low cap hit also ups his value, which is for Vancouver's benefit.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
BRUINS KINGS PENS  DUCKS BLUES SHARKS DEVILS HAWKS JACKETS

AGE: 26 CAP HIT: $3.5M
5. Erik Gudbranson, D / Vancouver Canucks
All signs point to the Canucks trading Gudbranson by the deadline. He's a UFA at season's end and doesn't look to be in Vancouver's future plans, especially after they tried to trade him before the season started.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
HAWKS STRAS DEVILS BRUINS ISLANDERS KINGS CAPS LEAFS

AGE: 28 CAP HIT: $5.1875M
6. Mike Hoffman, LW / Ottawa Senators
Hoffman continues to generate plenty of interest and the Sens could gain from moving him, as the return would be fruitful and Ottawa is already focusing on refurbishing its roster for next season.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
BLUES PANTHERS OILERS DUCKS BRUINS

AGE: 29 CAP HIT: $1.5M
7. Patrick Maroon, LW / Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers will look to obtain an asset or two for Maroon by the deadline. He's a big body who can assist in providing depth-scoring on a contending team.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
SHARKS BLUES ISLANDERS PREDS BOLTS BRUINS KINGS

AGE: 32 CAP HIT: $7M
8. Dion Phaneuf, D / Ottawa Senators
Phaneuf has played well for the Senators since joining their squad and is simply a potential casualty of a team looking to save some money. He has a 12-team trade list, and talks have already begun.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
KINGS OILERS

AGE: 29 CAP HIT: $4.5M
9. Max Pacioretty, LW / Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens will continue to take calls on their captain, but it still seems like a stretch that any trade involving Pacioretty will be made during the season. But if the right offer pops up, you never know.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
PREDS DUCKS JACKETS BLUES KINGS SHARKS HAWKS

AGE: 30 CAP HIT: $1.65M
10. Michael Grabner, RW/LW / New York Rangers
Grabner’s offensive game comes in spurts and any team looking to acquire him hopes he gets hot with them and into the playoffs.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11. Oliver Ekman-Larsson, D / Arizona Coyotes
The Coyotes have said they don’t want to move OEL, but we haven’t heard much lately and have you to wonder how much serious thought is now being put into fielding offers for a blueliner in need of a change of scenery.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
LEAFS FLYERS DEVILS WINGS BRUINS

12. Mats Zuccarello, RW / New York Rangers
Zuccarello’s name is very much out there and the Rangers are willing to listen. They won’t give him away, but if they can collect a few strong assets for him, they’ll pull the trigger.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:

TBD

13. Alex Galchenyuk, LW/RW / Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens seem only willing to move Galchenyuk in a deal that betters the franchise in the long-term, as well as the now. Though teams have called, a deal may be unlikely by the deadline.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
RANGERS JACKETS DUCKS PENS BLUES

14. Jason Demers, D / Arizona Coyotes
OEL isn’t the only player the Coyotes will take calls on leading up to the trade deadline, as Demers is another defenceman they have available. Arizona’s willing to move him and have made him available.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:

TBD

15. Tyson Barrie, D / Colorado Avalanche
Barrie’s name has been floating around the rumour mill going back to last season. He has two-years left on his contract after this season and won’t come cheap, but the Avs are taking calls and the right offer could force the issue mid-season.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
LEAFS

16. Ryan McDonagh, D / New York Rangers
Like Zuccarello, the Rangers are willing to listen on McDonagh, but that doesn't mean a deal will be finalized by the trade deadline. One thing is clear, the Rangers are busy.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
TBD

17. Gustav Nyquist, F / Detroit Red Wings
Nyquist owns a no-trade clause and will have to approve a deal Detroit tries to make, but he's being discussed around the League and could be moved if the right deal presented itself.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:

TBD
18. Zack Smith, C / Ottawa Senators

The Senators aren’t hoping to move Smith, but they’ve attracted interest in him and the right offer could persuade GM Pierre Dorion into making a move. Smith does own a 10-team no trade list.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:

TBD

19. Andrew Shaw, RW/C / Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens have reportedly had Shaw on the block since the start of the season. It's unclear what their asking price is or if they prefer to package him in a larger deal, but he's certainly up for grabs, even though he's currently injured.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
YOTES HAWKS OILERS FLAMES

20. Jack Johnson, D / Columbus Blue Jackets
This is most certainly an odd case, given how Columbus plans to contend for the Stanley Cup, but Johnson wants to boost his chances of generating a better contract with more playing time elsewhere.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
STARS DEVILS

21. Tanner Pearson, LW / Los Angeles Kings
Pearson isn’t actively available, per say, but the Kings would likely make him available if they were to acquire a top-four defenceman with term left on his deal.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
   SABRES CH WINGS RANGERS SENS

22. Mark Letestu, C / Edmonton Oilers
Moving Letestu this season appears to be a likely move for the Oilers, as their focus shifts to figuring out next season’s roster.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
    PENS KINGS STARS

23. Tomas Plekanec, C / Montreal Canadiens
The Habs seem somewhat torn on their willingness to part with Plekanec. Unless they can get their hands on a high draft pick, or a pair of picks, they may hold on to him. If moved, though, Montreal will have to eat part of his salary.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
          PENS

24. Nick Holden, D / New York Rangers
Holden is a UFA at the end of the season and with the Rangers presumably looking to sell off their pending free agents, he could be on the move by Feb. 26.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
TBD

25. Josh Leivo, LW / Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs really like Leivo, who hasn't seen much ice time due to Toronto's depth up front, but he may be in play as the team looks to strengthen its defensive corps.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
TBD

26. Petr Mrazek, G / Detroit Red Wings
Mrazek doesn’t appear to have much of a future with the Red Wings anymore, and Detroit could look to move him to a team in need of goaltending depth down the stretch.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
TBD

27. Ian Cole, D / Pittsburgh Penguins
It’s been well documented that Cole has fallen out of favour in Pittsburgh, and he remains an asset they play on trading if they can obtain depth up front.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:

28. Johnny Oduya, D / Ottawa Senators
Oduya’s Stanley Cup experience may be attractive enough for a contender to go after him before the deadline, despite his questionable play this season.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
TBD

29. Josh Gorges, D / Buffalo Sabres
Some teams still view Gorges as a very serviceable third-pair defenceman who can add quality depth to their lineup for the playoffs. He’s a UFA on July 1.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:
TBD

30. Valtteri Filppula, C/LW / Philadelphia Flyers
If the Flyers decide moving Filppula is in their benefit, GM Ron Hextall will make a deal and gain an asset or two for him.

TEAMS BELIEVED TO HAVE INTEREST:

TBD

BRENDAN GALLAGHER: Pratiquement intouchable.
CAREY PRICE: Ne sera pas échangé.
SHEA WEBER: Ne devrait pas être échangé.
JONATHAN DROUIN: Ne sera pas échangé.

Ulysse:
