Scouting Report:
Logan Cooley is a dynamic center who has great offensive elements to appease the fans while also being a hard, competitive two-way center that will make him a coach’s favorite. His game has a ton of speed, skill, and playmaking in it as well. Cooley makes the game look easy, and has an excellent skill level in all areas with great imagination. He has the ability to make plays that challenge opponents and create significant advantages for him and his team. When he’s out there, his skill might not pop like some of the other forwards, but he’s usually the most noticeable of them all because he’s always on the puck, he can play in all situations, his tempo never wavers and he can play with anybody. Cooley is an intelligent two-way forward who plays a mature game for his age. He reads the play extremely well in all three zones and is committed to his defensive responsibilities, getting involved down low and covering for his defensemen. Logan Cooley is comparable to Patrice Bergeron, who is known as a great defensive forward, while also being a reliable offensive player for his team. Like Bergeron, Cooley could end up turning into one of the better two-way centers from this draft class.
